The Digital Signal Processing Research Laboratory (LPDS) was established in 1998, at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), with the aim of conducting research in the area of digital signal processing, focusing on statistical and adaptive signal processing, speech processing and image processing.

Research and projects are developed with the contribution of scientific initiation, master, doctoral and postdoctoral fellows.

Widely involved in scientific research and outreach activities with industry and independent agencies, LPDS’ philosophy is to train researchers with solid theoretical knowledge, thus empowering them to decipher a wide range of engineering challenges and to create new concepts and technologies that employ voice, audio, image and video signals.
